Newcomer actress/comedian Kimrie Lewis-Davis hails from the storied neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles, but she ain’t your average homegirl. “When your neighborhood is known for the riots, you don’t get out much. Our mom only allowed us to play outside on special occasions…like a tsunami”, Kimrie jokes.Much of Kimrie’s comedy perspective derives from her experiences growing up in the storied South Central neighborhood. As the only kid in her neighborhood to attend a private school instead of the local public school, Kimrie says “I had to wear a uniform every day. The kids on my block just thought I LOVED plaid.”Kimrie incorporates her unique experiences into TV and film roles. Her breakout film role is that of Meg in the 2013 Lionsgate film Tyler Perry Presents: Peeples. Written and directed by Tina Gordon-Chism (Drumline, ATL),Peeples stars Craig Robinson (The OfficeHot Tub Time Machine), Kerry Washington (ScandalRay), and David Alan Grier (In Living Color). Sparks fly in Peeples when Wade Walker (Robinson) crashes the Peeples family reunion to ask for their precious daughter Grace’s hand in marriage. Kimrie’s character Meg enlists the professional help of Robinson to bring clarity to her own secretive relationship.  On being the only newcomer to the Peeples star-studded cast, Kimrie says “To be surrounded every day by actors and comedians that I’ve always looked up to, was like having several dreams come true ALL at once. I didn’t want it to end!”In addition to Peeples, Kimrie also appeared in the film State of Play (Rachel MacAdams & Ben Affleck). She has guest starred on a number of TV shows; playing a legal reporter on the new season of Scandal (ABC), playing opposite Matthew Perry and Terrell Owens on NBC’s Go On pilot, and she appears on the new season of New Girl (FOX). Additionally, Kimrie played Mike Epps’ girlfriend in the HBO pilot The Unsuccessful Thug. She also recently starred in a new comedy webseries for Russell Simmons’ new network, All Def Digital.Kimrie received her B.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. While at Tisch, Kimrie was invited to the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England where she studied classical theater. Although she was afraid to admit it, the standup comedy bug bit Kimrie at an early age when her mom signed her up for the Laugh Factory’s Comedy Camp for Kids.  Kimrie didn’t hit the stage again until after she graduated from college. “I had to go through some things, experience some stuff—that now, I can get on stage and laugh about”. Kimrie performs at clubs and colleges across the country, and is a regular on the Pretty Funny Women comedy show. She has featured for Craig Robinson, Tom Green, Roy Wood Jr. and Pauly Shore.
